OP and experienced tech sector entrepreneur, David Agar (73-80), visited the school in July 2023 for the annual OP Summer Reunion weekend. During his visit, David gave the OP team an update on what he is doing now and spoke about his new social impact ‘fintech4good’ venture, Bankability.App.

David’s mission with the app is to enable millions of vulnerable people such as those with disabilities, or those who are less tech-savvy and struggle to use today’s online or mobile banking apps, to manage their finances more easily.

David explained: “For people who are financially excluded in this way, through no fault of their own, it can feel frustrating and isolating, and can lead to mental health issues. BankAbility is not just about creating an accessible app, it’s about inclusion, equality, independence, and unlocking possibilities!”

BankAbility is currently in the early phase of raising investment funding to build and launch its solution. At the same time, David is building up a waiting list of users who will be amongst the first to try the BankAbility app when it launches.

David said: “The more people who register, the sooner we can bring this product to life and start to make a real difference for the people who need it most.”
