Judy McHenry (Former Staff, 89-04) joined the Staff at Pocklington School in 1994. She was a great asset to the PE department where the number of girls was increasing and her expertise in sharing a wide range of sporting skills was invaluable. She was a true "team player" with a gentle, efficient approach  and was always prepared to go the extra mile. Though part-time, Judy spent many hours doing extra training with her teams and driving them around the north of England, such was her dedication.

In addition to her Senior School duties, by 1999, Judy had also joined the ranks of the Lyndhurst Junior School staff where she did a great job in helping to build up lunch-time tennis clubs for all age groups. She ran U10 Netball and Rounders teams, assisted with Athletics and Sports Days in her usual calm, thorough manner. She also willingly gave up her time to help out with a variety of school trips and activities.

Before her retirement in 2004, Judy enjoyed some Year 6 classroom teaching in Geography and RS. Once again her precise nature and attention to detail were prevalent. Judy's aim was to encourage the pupils to appreciate the people and the world around them and to do their best, as she always did herself. A dear friend and colleague, Judy will be sadly missed.
