OPs at Snake Lane 10-miler - Run and Social Drinks - OP runners and spectators welcome!

The 35th running of the Snake Lane 10-mile road race 

Sunday 28 February 2027, 9.00am start, Pocklington

In 2027, a team of OPs will be running the 35th Snake Lane 10-mile road race. This will be followed by a gathering of OPs and spectators in The Feathers (TBC) afterwards for drinks.

All abilities are welcome to take part, you do not have to be a pro-runner to join the team, it's all about taking part, challenging yourself and having fun. There is a generous race cut-off time of 2.5 hours, supportive pacers at 5-minute intervals to guide you around the course, and the event takes place on closed roads.

For those who haven't done Snake Lane before, it is a super friendly and supportive event, a beautiful course out to Bishop Wilton and back and a great atmosphere in the town centre for the finish. The write up from last year's race is here, to give you an idea.

If any OPs would like to run as part of the OP team, please sign up below as a runner by Wednesday 30 September 2026 and we will be in touch with details of how to secure your guaranteed OP entry.

If you would like to come along on race day to support the runners and join us afterwards for a drink, please sign up as a spectator using the link below so we know to expect you.

General entries to Snake Lane go on sale at 11.00am on Saturday 10 October if you would like to run but miss the deadline for the OP entries. The race usually sells out very quickly (under two hours last year!), so make sure you set yourself a reminder! Once all places are sold, we will operate a waiting list in case any OP runners can no longer run and they would like to transfer their place, so please do let us know if you would like to be added. You can also join the SL10 Road Race group on Facebook where transfers are advertised.
