OPs at Snake Lane 10-miler - Run and Social Drinks - OP runners and spectators welcome!
The 33rd running of the Snake Lane 10-mile road race
Sunday 23 February 2025, 9.00am start, Pocklington
As in previous years, we will have a team of OPs running in the race itself followed by a gathering of OP runners and spectators in The Feathers afterwards for drinks (and butties for the runners!).
OPs can sign up to run with the OP team, or just come along to support and join us afterwards for a drink.
All abilities are welcome to take part in the race; you do not have to be a pro-runner to join the team, it's about taking part, challenging yourself and having fun! There is a generous race cut-off time of 2.5 hours and the event takes place on closed roads.
For those who haven’t done it before, it is a super-friendly and supportive event, a beautiful course out to Bishop Wilton and ‘snaking’ back into Pocklington, a great atmosphere in the town centre for the finish, and if you start now, you will have plenty of time to train!
If you would like to run, please sign up and select ticket type ‘runner’ by Monday 14 October. We will send you more information on how to secure your spot on the team and organise an OP-branded running top for you to run in. General entries go on sale on Saturday 26 October 2025 and will sell out fast!
If you would like to watch and then join us for a drink afterwards, please select ticket type ‘spectator’.
If you need any further information, please get in touch with the OP office.
Looking forward to a great day of running!
What previous participants say:
“Snake Lane is Pock at its best. It’s always amazing to see hundreds of supporters lining the route... it is always a fun race, and a great way to get involved with the OP community. It’s a race I always love to be a part of.” Harry Isenstein (06-17)
"This marked my second year participating in Snake Lane, and after thoroughly enjoying my first experience, I was looking forward to Sunday. It was lovely to see OPs and teachers post-race and I wholeheartedly recommend Snake Lane to anyone seeking a supportive and uplifting event to be a part of. Until next year!" Angela Curtis (10-17)
"I always look forward to participating in the Snake Lane race as part of the OP team. To complete the run gives me a great sense of achievement and pride. I gather with my other team runners before, and then after finishing the run we meet in the 'Feathers'. I always find this, which is ran so well by the OPA, to be very friendly and welcoming. I left School a long time ago and it is interesting to hear the affection everyone has for the School and the positive way it has impacted on their lives. The OPA organise many events throughout the year. If you like running, sign up for the OP team for the Snake 10-mile run. It’s not as far as you think and it's a lot of fun !" Stewart Mumby (63-71)
Race starts at 9.00am
Drinks from 10.15am at The Feathers
