Terry has always shown an interest in music and theatre. During his time at Pocklington he took part in a number of school productions which included Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, Arthur Miller’s ‘Death of a Salesman’ and the School Pageant written by English Master, Mike Stevenson, in Terry’s final year at school.
Terry was also involved with a group of friends (Alec Sabin 56-65, the late Jonathan Carr 56-65, David Hancock 58-65, David Mc Donald 58-65, and one or two others) performing typical 60s satirical skits in the vein of David Frost’s ‘That was the week that was’. Above all, Terry loved to sing and was a member of the school choir for the majority of his time at Pocklington.
After leaving school he continued his involvement with amateur dramatics and ran a number of Station theatre clubs during his career in the RAF.
He joined the Oxford Operatic society some 18 years ago when he met his second wife Diana, herself a long-term member, and has performed twice a year ever since either at the Oxford Playhouse or The Oxford New Theatre in various productions ranging from Carmen through Gilbert and Sullivan to Grease; with a whole variety in between!
Legally Blond The Musical runs from 27 to 30 May 2015 at the New Oxford Theatre. For further details and tickets click here.
