OP Richard Pearson (81-88), Regional Director for the National Farmers’ Union, is on the industry panel of judges assisting the Yorkshire Post’s Country Week to choose the most outstanding candidate for their Farmer of the Year Award 2015.
The Award has been launched to mark ten years of Country Week and will publicly recognise one farmer, or farming family, from across the region who best demonstrates their commitment to championing the industry to the wider public and has strived to consistently communicate with and educate their local community about where food comes from.
The winner of the Farmer of the Year 2015 title will be revealed at the Great Yorkshire Show in July and the stories of shortlisted entrants will be featured in Country Week in the run up to the show.
Richard is joined on the judging panel by Judy Bell, Chairman of regional food group Deliciouslyorkshire and Bill Cowling, Show Director at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
Nominations for the award, consisting of your full contact details and no more than 500 words explaining what your farm has done to engage with the public in the last 12 months, must be submitted to Ben Barnett of Country Week by the deadline of 12 June 2015.
