Costcutter Supermarkets Group has appointed a new Brand Manager to oversee the development of its new Independent own brand. OP Lucinda Cawood (97-06) joins having spent over four years at Haribo as Product Manager where she managed the business’s seasonal activity. Working alongside the category management team and the BuyCo, Lucinda is tasked with successfully launching the new brand across Costcutter Supermarkets Group retailers’ and Palmer and Harvey’s customers. Lucinda will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the Independent marketing strategy, across both trade and consumer markets, and creating high levels of brand awareness for the new range.
Commenting on her appointment Richard Coates, Interim Marketing Director for Costcutter Supermarkets Group, said: “This role is key to the successful rollout of the new Independent brand and increasing both its awareness and brand reputation. Lucinda will be responsible for delivering the Independent marketing strategy which will be instrumental in growing sales into retailers and giving them the tools with which to grow customer sales.”

The Independent range has been developed in three easy-to-navigate categories. Independent Trader has a selection of basic products at accessible price points. Independent is a mid-range core offering for everyday shopping. And Independent Specialist is the more premium range for treats and special occasions.
