On Thursday 25 September 2014, twenty five OPs and their wives met at the Bridge Hotel in Wetherby, to enjoy a relaxing lunch together and renew old acquaintances. The event was open to all who left school 50 years ago or more and some had not met since they left school so there was much to catch up on!!
The concept of the ‘Dinosaurs’ was the brainchild of OP David Richardson (46-53). For many years David was a great supporter of the OP Summer Reunion by umpiring the cricket matches until he suddenly felt much older than everyone else, in fact a bit like a ‘Dinosaur’ and thus the idea was born. Having retired from umpiring, we are delighted that he still comes along to enjoy the day with fellow OPs.
Pictured below are all those who attended the event including the oldest person there, John Richardson (34-39) who reached the grand age of 91 recently and had some wonderful stories to tell of his time at school as a boarder.
This event is held every three years so we very much look forward to the next one in 2017!
