Harriet Edwards (97-08) joined a team of 60 runners to conquer the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 26 April 2015 to raise money for Arthritis Research UK. Harriet, now 25, was just five when she was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).
Harriet has been training since October last year and this was her first marathon. She completed the course in 6 hours 2 minutes and 20 seconds. At the finish line, she said: “The day was fantastic and it was really nice having Arthritis Research UK, friends and family cheering me on along the way. It was great to run for a cause that means so much to me personally.
“I’d like to thank all my friends and family for their kind donations. All the money raised will help the charity continue to raise awareness and fund key research.”
