The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s highly anticipated concert of Beethoven’s two most popular works took place at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 7 June 2013 featuring OP Alexandra Dariescu (2001-2003) making her debut and the first ever female Romanian pianist to perform at the venue. Pocklington School staff member and Head of English, Bryony Marshall, attended the concert on the school’s behalf. “Alexandra was amazing; her playing was wonderful and her love of performing as exuberant and delightful as we all remember from her time at Pocklington. She was a joy to watch from the moment she stepped on stage, to her three curtain calls and I felt very privileged to be there for such an occasion.”
Friday 7 June also marked the release of Alexandra’s new CD: Complete Preludes Chopin and Dutilleux on Champs Hill Records. This CD is volume 1 of a 3-volume set containing complete preludes of different composers. For more information click here.
