Adrian Edmondson (69-75) recently won the BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef competition beating fellow finalists Les Dennis and Janet Street-Porter to the title after cooking a faultless three-course meal for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Ade’s winning menu was venison with celeriac remoulade, followed by sea bass stuffed with scallop mousse and a strawberry and caramel dessert with shortbread. He said: “I’m very, very chuffed. I’ve spent most of my life being second, so to come top feels very weird. It feels unusual, but I’m very, very pleased indeed. It’s quite nice to be first.” Ade added: “I didn’t realise it was going to be as tough as it has been. I have spent every waking and every sleeping moment thinking about food”. He later tweeted that he was celebrating his win by having beans on toast and some alcohol for tea!
Ade is currently performing in theatre production Neville’s Island at Chichester Festival Theatre as well as touring with his band The Bad Shepherds. The band will be performing at Pocklington Arts Centre on Sunday 8 December 2013 although tickets have already sold out.
